Joel is a 2006 graduate of Penn State University and earned degrees in both Kinesiology and Recreation Management. During his time there, he competed in both cross country and track, learning the importance of a comprehensive and integrated training program for injury prevention and optimal performance.
Upon graduating, Joel received his personal training and performance enhancement specialist certifications through the National Academy of Sports Medicine. He met Nate at the former Spring Valley Athletic Club, where they teamed up to help start the local branch of Parisi Speed School. Once Spring Valley Athletic Club was sold to the now Sinking Spring YMCA, they both went their separate ways unknowingly to the realization they'd cross paths again down the road.
Joel is a firm believer in the importance of small business and its impact, through relationship building, in the local community. This belief, along with his passion for community health and wellness, has guided his various career paths from managing Fleet Feet West Reading, helping found The Farmhouse Kitchen, and co-owning Good Life Organics.
Joel joins the Taylored Physical Therapy team as a personal trainer and performance coach with a specialty in running-specific training and functional nutrition. His training philosophy: 'The key to durability and longevity always starts and ends with a strong foundation.' In his free time when not strength training, he enjoys hiking, yoga, meditation, supporting the local restaurant scene, EDM music and dancing, tailgating and rooting for Penn State and all Philadelphia sports teams, as well as 'his' (but really his wife's) two cats, Velvet and Aoki. Joel can be reached at: 610-451-0906 or MoceriTraining@gmail.com
